Wallace A. ”Wally” Norin age 87 of Twin Lakes, WI died Saturday morning Aug. 24, 29013 at his home.
Wallace Andrew Norin was born on June 30, 1926 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Andrew G. and Ruth Bowman Norin. On October 8, 1949 in Chicago, IL, he was united in marriage to June C. Johnsen. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2006.
Wally served as a Gunners Mate Third Class in the U.S. Navy from Feb. 14, 1944 until discharge on May 28, 1946. He was a member of the UDT Team 20 Frogmen. He earned the Victory Medal, the American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal
Wally worked as a machine operator in manufacturing most of his life. He lived in McHenry and Crystal Lake, IL before moving to Twin Lakes. He was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Twin Lakes. He was a member of the U.S. Chess Federation and played chess all over the world. He studied multiple languages, was a Civil War Buff and studied many sciences.
Wally is survived by: 1 daughter-Cheryl (Andrew) Wegmann of Beecher, IL; 2 sons-David (Susan) of Lindenhurst, IL and George of Twin Lakes, WI; 4 grandchildren and 2 gr. Grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00PM Monday August 26, 2013 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home in Twin Lakes. Private Family interment will be in Mound Prairie Cemetery.
